Ga-Segonyana Municipality addresses learners on bullying at TT Lekalake Primary School
On 15 October 2024, TT Lekalake Primary School hosted an important dialogue as part of the ongoing 100 Days End GBVF Challenge, focusing on addressing bullying in schools. Speaker Keamogetse Madikiza, from the Gender-Based Violence desk, led the discussion aimed at empowering learners to stand against bullying.
The session featured contributions from key stakeholders, including representatives from the Soul City Initiative, SUDI, SAPS, and the Ga-Segonyana GBV Desk, with Ms. Obet Mosiapoa playing an active role in engaging the learners. Teachers and learners were also provided with essential hotline numbers for support, should they face bullying or mental health challenges.
Supporting this initiative are the Department of Health, JTG District Municipality, and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), ensuring a well-rounded support structure for creating a safe and supportive school environment.
This dialogue reinforces the importance of tackling bullying head-on, while also offering vital resources to both learners and educators.
