100 Days. 100 Survivors. One Shared Goal: Rebuilding Lives Beyond GBVF
Recognising this reality, Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme and Govan Mbeki Local Municipalities have united behind a powerful shared goal through the End GBVF 100-Day Challenges:
To empower 100 survivors of GBVF in 100 days by expanding support and creating real opportunities for healing, skill-building, income generation, and access to essential information.
Through this initiative, new support channels are being opened to help survivors develop skills, access economic opportunities, and get the information they need to make informed decisions. Whether it’s through training, mentorship, referrals, or linking to local resources, the goal is to ensure that no survivor is left to start over alone.
This challenge recognises that real change doesn’t just mean escaping abuse, it means changing the conditions that made escape necessary in the first place. Empowerment means more than safety; it means stability, purpose, and the ability to choose a different future.
By focusing on both recovery and economic resilience, the municipality is helping survivors move from survival to rebuilding, and from fear to independence. It’s a powerful step toward shifting the system and creating lasting impact – one life, one opportunity, one day at a time.
